PIGU-XRCC4 Fusion FISH Probe
The PIGU-XRCC4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PIGU and XRCC4 genes. The fusion of the PIGU and XRCC4 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

XRCC4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene functions together with DNA ligase IV and the DNA-dependent protein kinase in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks. This protein plays a role in both non-homologous end joining and the completion of V(D)J recombination. Mutations in this gene can cause short stature, microcephaly, and endocrine dysfunction (SSMED). Alternative splicing generates several transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: X-ray Repair Cross Complementing 4
Chromosome: CHR5: 82373316 -82649579
Locus: 5q14.2
PIGU Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc91, a predicted integral membrane protein that may function in cell division control. The protein encoded by this gene is the fifth subunit of GPI transamidase that attaches GPI-anchors to proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol Glycan Anchor Biosynthesis Class U
