PIGU-PITPNC1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PIGU-PITPNC1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PIGU and PITPNC1 genes. The fusion of the PIGU and PITPNC1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PITPNC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the phosphatidylinositol transfer protein family. The encoded cytoplasmic protein plays a role in multiple processes including cell signaling and lipid metabolism by facilitating the transfer of phosphatidylinositol between membrane compartments. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene, and a pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 1. Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol Transfer Protein, Cytoplasmic 1
Chromosome: CHR17: 65373923 -65689647
Locus: 17q24.2
PIGU Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc91, a predicted integral membrane protein that may function in cell division control. The protein encoded by this gene is the fifth subunit of GPI transamidase that attaches GPI-anchors to proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol Glycan Anchor Biosynthesis Class U
