PIGU-NCOA6 Fusion FISH Probe
The PIGU-NCOA6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PIGU and NCOA6 genes. The fusion of the PIGU and NCOA6 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NCOA6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional coactivator that can interact with nuclear hormone receptors to enhance their transcriptional activator functions. This protein has been shown to be involved in the hormone-dependent coactivation of several receptors, including prostanoid, retinoid, vitamin D3, thyroid hormone, and steroid receptors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Coactivator 6
Chromosome: CHR20: 33302577 -33413433
Locus: 20q11.22
PIGU Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc91, a predicted integral membrane protein that may function in cell division control. The protein encoded by this gene is the fifth subunit of GPI transamidase that attaches GPI-anchors to proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol Glycan Anchor Biosynthesis Class U
