PI4KA-RREB1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PI4KA-RREB1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PI4KA and RREB1 genes. The fusion of the PI4KA and RREB1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PI4KA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a phosphatidylinositol (PI) 4-kinase which catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. The mammalian PI 4-kinases have been classified into two types, II and III, based on their molecular mass, and modulation by detergent and adenosine. The protein encoded by this gene is a type III enzyme that is not inhibited by adenosine. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase Alpha
Chromosome: CHR22: 21061978 -21213070
Locus: 22q11.21
RREB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger transcription factor that binds to RAS-responsive elements (RREs) of gene promoters. It has been shown that the calcitonin gene promoter contains an RRE and that the encoded protein binds there and increases expression of calcitonin, which may be involved in Ras/Raf-mediated cell differentiation. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]
Gene Name: Ras Responsive Element Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR6: 7107829 -7252213
Locus: 6p24.3
