PHIP-HMGN3 Fusion FISH Probe
The PHIP-HMGN3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PHIP and HMGN3 genes. The fusion of the PHIP and HMGN3 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HMGN3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene binds thyroid hormone receptor beta in the presence of thyroid hormone. The encoded protein, a member of the HMGN protein family, is thought to reduce the compactness of the chromatin fiber in nucleosomes, thereby enhancing transcription from chromatin templates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. There is a related pseudogene on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Gene Name: High Mobility Group Nucleosomal Binding Domain 3
Chromosome: CHR6: 79910961 -79944455
Locus: 6q14.1
PHIP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that binds to the insulin receptor substrate 1 protein and regulates glucose transporter translocation in skeletal muscle cells. The encoded protein may also regulate growth and survival of pancreatic beta cells. Elevated copy number of this gene may be associated with melanoma severity and the encoded protein may promote melanoma metastasis in human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
Gene Name: Pleckstrin Homology Domain Interacting Protein
