PHF3-QKI Fusion FISH Probe
The PHF3-QKI Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PHF3 and QKI genes. The fusion of the PHF3 and QKI genes has been associated with Uveal Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

QKI Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is an RNA-binding protein that regulates pre-mRNA splicing, export of mRNAs from the nucleus, protein translation, and mRNA stability. The encoded protein is involved in myelinization and oligodendrocyte differentiation and may play a role in schizophrenia. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: QKI, KH Domain Containing RNA Binding
Chromosome: CHR6: 163835674 -163999628
Locus: 6q26
PHF3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a PHD finger-containing gene family. This gene may function as a transcription factor and may be involved in glioblastomas development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
Gene Name: PHD Finger Protein 3
Chromosome: CHR6: 64356430 -64424405
Locus: 6q12
