PDLIM5-SHISA5 Fusion FISH Probe
The PDLIM5-SHISA5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PDLIM5 and SHISA5 genes. The fusion of the PDLIM5 and SHISA5 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PDLIM5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins that possess a 100-amino acid PDZ domain at the N terminus and one to three LIM domains at the C-terminus. This family member functions as a scaffold protein that tethers protein kinases to the Z-disk in striated muscles. It is thought to function in cardiomyocyte expansion and in restraining postsynaptic growth of excitatory synapses. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: PDZ And LIM Domain 5
Chromosome: CHR4: 95373037 -95589377
Locus: 4q22.3
SHISA5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the shisa family. The encoded protein is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, and together with p53 induces apoptosis in a caspase-dependent manner. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Gene Name: Shisa Family Member 5
