PCGF3-MYL5 Fusion FISH Probe
The PCGF3-MYL5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PCGF3 and MYL5 genes. The fusion of the PCGF3 and MYL5 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MYL5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes one of the myosin light chains, a component of the hexameric ATPase cellular motor protein myosin. Myosin is composed of two heavy chains, two nonphosphorylatable alkali light chains, and two phosphorylatable regulatory light chains. This gene product, one of the regulatory light chains, is expressed in fetal muscle and in adult retina, cerebellum, and basal ganglia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Myosin Light Chain 5
Chromosome: CHR4: 671710 -675817
Locus: 4p16.3
PCGF3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene contains a C3HC4 type RING finger, which is a motif known to be involved in protein-protein interactions. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Polycomb Group Ring Finger 3
Chromosome: CHR4: 699572 -764427
Locus: 4p16.3
