PCCB-DLG1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PCCB-DLG1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PCCB and DLG1 genes. The fusion of the PCCB and DLG1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DLG1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a multi-domain scaffolding protein that is required for normal development. This protein may have a role in septate junction formation, signal transduction, cell proliferation, synaptogenesis and lymphocyte activation. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene, but the full-length nature of some of the variants is not known. Gene Name: Discs Large MAGUK Scaffold Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 196769430 -197025447
Locus: 3q29
PCCB Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC) enzyme, which is involved in the catabolism of propionyl-CoA. PCC is a mitochondrial enzyme that probably acts as a dodecamer of six alpha subunits and six beta subunits. This gene encodes the beta subunit of PCC. Defects in this gene are a cause of propionic acidemia type II (PA-2). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Propionyl-CoA Carboxylase Beta Subunit
Chromosome: CHR3: 135969166 -136049013
Locus: 3q22.3
