PAPOLA-AK7 Fusion FISH Probe
The PAPOLA-AK7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PAPOLA and AK7 genes. The fusion of the PAPOLA and AK7 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PAPOLA Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the poly(A) polymerase family. It is required for the addition of adenosine residues for the creation of the 3'-poly(A) tail of mRNAs. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Poly(A) Polymerase Alpha
Chromosome: CHR14: 96968719 -97033448
Locus: 14q32.2
AK7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the adenylate kinase family of enzymes. The encoded enzyme is a phosphotransferase that catalyzes the reversible phosphorylation of adenine nucleotides. This enzyme plays a role in energy homeostasis of the cell. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Mutations in the mouse gene are associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]
Gene Name: Adenylate Kinase 7
Chromosome: CHR14: 96858447 -96955112
Locus: 14q32.2
