PAK2-DLG1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PAK2-DLG1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PAK2 and DLG1 genes. The fusion of the PAK2 and DLG1 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DLG1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a multi-domain scaffolding protein that is required for normal development. This protein may have a role in septate junction formation, signal transduction, cell proliferation, synaptogenesis and lymphocyte activation. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene, but the full-length nature of some of the variants is not known. Gene Name: Discs Large MAGUK Scaffold Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 196769430 -197025447
Locus: 3q29
PAK2 Gene Summary
The p21 activated kinases (PAK) are critical effectors that link Rho GTPases to cytoskeleton reorganization and nuclear signaling. The PAK proteins are a family of serine/threonine kinases that serve as targets for the small GTP binding proteins, CDC42 and RAC1, and have been implicated in a wide range of biological activities. The protein encoded by this gene is activated by proteolytic cleavage during caspase-mediated apoptosis, and may play a role in regulating the apoptotic events in the dying cell. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: P21 (RAC1) Activated Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 196466727 -196559518
Locus: 3q29
