PAG1-GAD2 Fusion FISH Probe
The PAG1-GAD2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PAG1 and GAD2 genes. The fusion of the PAG1 and GAD2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GAD2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes one of several forms of glutamic acid decarboxylase, identified as a major autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes. The enzyme encoded is responsible for catalyzing the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid from L-glutamic acid. A pathogenic role for this enzyme has been identified in the human pancreas since it has been identified as an autoantibody and an autoreactive T cell target in insulin-dependent diabetes. This gene may also play a role in the stiff man syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Gene Name: Glutamate Decarboxylase 2
Chromosome: CHR10: 26505235 -26593491
Locus: 10p12.1
PAG1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a type III transmembrane adaptor protein that binds to the tyrosine kinase csk protein. It is thought to be involved in the regulation of T cell activation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphoprotein Membrane Anchor With Glycosphingolipid Microdomains 1
Chromosome: CHR8: 81880045 -82024303
Locus: 8q21.13
