PACSIN2-MCAT Fusion FISH Probe
The PACSIN2-MCAT Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PACSIN2 and MCAT genes. The fusion of the PACSIN2 and MCAT genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PACSIN2 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons family. The encoded protein is involved in linking the actin cytoskeleton with vesicle formation by regulating tubulin polymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Protein Kinase C And Casein Kinase Substrate In Neurons 2
Chromosome: CHR22: 43265771 -43411184
Locus: 22q13.2
MCAT Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is found exclusively in the mitochondrion, where it catalyzes the transfer of a malonyl group from malonyl-CoA to the mitochondrial acyl carrier protein. The encoded protein may be part of a fatty acid synthase complex that is more like the type II prokaryotic and plastid complexes rather than the type I human cytosolic complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]
Gene Name: Malonyl-CoA-acyl Carrier Protein Transacylase
Chromosome: CHR22: 43528211 -43539403
Locus: 22q13.2
