PACSIN2-CERK Fusion FISH Probe
The PACSIN2-CERK Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PACSIN2 and CERK genes. The fusion of the PACSIN2 and CERK genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PACSIN2 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons family. The encoded protein is involved in linking the actin cytoskeleton with vesicle formation by regulating tubulin polymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: Protein Kinase C And Casein Kinase Substrate In Neurons 2
Chromosome: CHR22: 43265771 -43411184
Locus: 22q13.2
CERK Gene Summary
CERK converts ceramide to ceramide 1-phosphate (C1P), a sphingolipid metabolite. Both CERK and C1P have been implicated in various cellular processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, phagocytosis, and inflammation (Kim et al., 2006 [PubMed 16488390]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Ceramide Kinase
Chromosome: CHR22: 47080306 -47134152
Locus: 22q13.31
