PACS1-CHKA Fusion FISH Probe
The PACS1-CHKA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PACS1 and CHKA genes. The fusion of the PACS1 and CHKA genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CHKA Gene Summary
The major pathway for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine occurs via the CDP-choline pathway. The protein encoded by this gene is the initial enzyme in the sequence and may play a regulatory role. The encoded protein also catalyzes the phosphorylation of ethanolamine. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Choline Kinase Alpha
Chromosome: CHR11: 67820325 -67888858
Locus: 11q13.2
PACS1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein with a putative role in the localization of trans-Golgi network (TGN) membrane proteins. Mouse and rat homologs have been identified and studies of the homologous rat protein indicate a role in directing TGN localization of furin by binding to the protease's phosphorylated cytosolic domain. In addition, the human protein plays a role in HIV-1 Nef-mediated downregulation of cell surface MHC-I molecules to the TGN, thereby enabling HIV-1 to escape immune surveillance. Gene Name: Phosphofurin Acidic Cluster Sorting Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 65837823 -66012213
Locus: 11q13.1-q13.2
