OTX1-EHBP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The OTX1-EHBP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the OTX1 and EHBP1 genes. The fusion of the OTX1 and EHBP1 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

OTX1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the bicoid sub-family of homeodomain-containing transcription factors. The encoded protein acts as a transcription factor and may play a role in brain and sensory organ development. A similar protein in mouse is required for proper brain and sensory organ development and can cause epilepsy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
Gene Name: Orthodenticle Homeobox 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 63277191 -63284966
Locus: 2p15
EHBP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an Eps15 homology domain binding protein. The encoded protein may play a role in endocytic trafficking. A single nucleotide polymorphism in this gene is associated with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: EH Domain Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 62900985 -63273621
Locus: 2p15
