OSBPL3-GABRG3 Fusion FISH Probe
The OSBPL3-GABRG3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the OSBPL3 and GABRG3 genes. The fusion of the OSBPL3 and GABRG3 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GABRG3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor. GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. GABA-A receptors are pentameric, consisting of proteins from several subunit classes: alpha, beta, gamma, delta and rho. The protein encoded by this gene is a gamma subunit, which contains the benzodiazepine binding site. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Gamma-aminobutyric Acid Type A Receptor Gamma3 Subunit
Chromosome: CHR15: 27216428 -27778373
Locus: 15q12
OSBPL3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. Most members contain an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a highly conserved C-terminal OSBP-like sterol-binding domain. The encoded protein is involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and organization of the actin cytoskeleton. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
