OLFM4-DYNC1H1 Fusion FISH Probe
The OLFM4-DYNC1H1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the OLFM4 and DYNC1H1 genes. The fusion of the OLFM4 and DYNC1H1 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

DYNC1H1 Gene Summary
Dyneins are a group of microtubule-activated ATPases that function as molecular motors. They are divided into two subgroups of axonemal and cytoplasmic dyneins. The cytoplasmic dyneins function in intracellular motility, including retrograde axonal transport, protein sorting, organelle movement, and spindle dynamics. Molecules of conventional cytoplasmic dynein are comprised of 2 heavy chain polypeptides and a number of intermediate and light chains. This gene encodes a member of the cytoplasmic dynein heavy chain family. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Gene Name: Dynein Cytoplasmic 1 Heavy Chain 1
Chromosome: CHR14: 102430864 -102517135
Locus: 14q32.31
OLFM4 Gene Summary
This gene was originally cloned from human myeloblasts and found to be selectively expressed in inflammed colonic epithelium. This gene encodes a member of the olfactomedin family. The encoded protein is an antiapoptotic factor that promotes tumor growth and is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that facilitates cell adhesion. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Gene Name: Olfactomedin 4
Chromosome: CHR13: 53602875 -53626196
Locus: 13q14.3
