OAS1-RPH3A Fusion FISH Probe
The OAS1-RPH3A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the OAS1 and RPH3A genes. The fusion of the OAS1 and RPH3A genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

OAS1 Gene Summary
This gene is induced by interferons and encodes a protein that synthesizes 2',5'-oligoadenylates (2-5As). This protein activates latent RNase L, which results in viral RNA degradation and the inhibition of viral replication. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants with different enzymatic activities. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with susceptibility to viral infection and diabetes mellitus, type 1. A disease-associated allele in a splice acceptor site influences the production of the p46 splice isoform. This gene is located in a cluster of related genes on chromosome 12. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Gene Name: 2'-5'-oligoadenylate Synthetase 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 113344738 -113357712
Locus: 12q24.13
RPH3A Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be an effector for RAB3A, which is a small G protein that acts in the late stages of neurotransmitter exocytosis. The encoded protein may be involved in neurotransmitter release and synaptic vesicle traffic. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]
Gene Name: Rabphilin 3A
Chromosome: CHR12: 113229548 -113336684
Locus: 12q24.13
