NUP85-KCTD2 Fusion FISH Probe
The NUP85-KCTD2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NUP85 and KCTD2 genes. The fusion of the NUP85 and KCTD2 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KCTD2 Gene Summary
The Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 2 (KCTD2) gene is located on chr17 :73043278-73061981 at 17q25.1.
Gene Name: Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 73043278 -73061981
Locus: 17q25.1
NUP85 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein component of the Nup107-160 subunit of the nuclear pore complex. Nuclear pore complexes are embedded in the nuclear envelope and promote bidirectional transport of macromolecules between the cytoplasm and nucleus. The encoded protein can also bind to the C-terminus of chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 2 (CCR2) and promote chemotaxis of monocytes, thereby participating in the inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]
Gene Name: Nucleoporin 85
Chromosome: CHR17: 73201596 -73231854
Locus: 17q25.1
