NUMA1-PPP2R5B Fusion FISH Probe
The NUMA1-PPP2R5B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NUMA1 and PPP2R5B genes. The fusion of the NUMA1 and PPP2R5B genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NUMA1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that forms a structural component of the nuclear matrix. The encoded protein interacts with microtubules and plays a role in the formation and organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. Chromosomal translocation of this gene with the RARA (retinoic acid receptor, alpha) gene on chromosome 17 have been detected in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 71713910 -71791573
Locus: 11q13.4
PPP2R5B Gene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes a beta isoform of the regulatory subunit B56 subfamily. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase 2 Regulatory Subunit B'beta
Chromosome: CHR11: 64692142 -64701950
Locus: 11q13.1
