NUMA1-CADM2 Fusion FISH Probe
The NUMA1-CADM2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NUMA1 and CADM2 genes. The fusion of the NUMA1 and CADM2 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NUMA1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that forms a structural component of the nuclear matrix. The encoded protein interacts with microtubules and plays a role in the formation and organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. Chromosomal translocation of this gene with the RARA (retinoic acid receptor, alpha) gene on chromosome 17 have been detected in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 71713910 -71791573
Locus: 11q13.4
CADM2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the synaptic cell adhesion molecule 1 (SynCAM) family which belongs to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. The encoded protein has three Ig-like domains and a cytosolic protein 4.1 binding site near the C-terminus. Proteins belonging to the protein 4.1 family crosslink spectrin and interact with other cytoskeletal proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Cell Adhesion Molecule 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 85008132 -86123579
Locus: 3p12.1
