NUMA1-AATF Fusion FISH Probe
The NUMA1-AATF Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NUMA1 and AATF genes. The fusion of the NUMA1 and AATF genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NUMA1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that forms a structural component of the nuclear matrix. The encoded protein interacts with microtubules and plays a role in the formation and organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. Chromosomal translocation of this gene with the RARA (retinoic acid receptor, alpha) gene on chromosome 17 have been detected in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 71713910 -71791573
Locus: 11q13.4
AATF Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene was identified on the basis of its interaction with MAP3K12/DLK, a protein kinase known to be involved in the induction of cell apoptosis. This gene product contains a leucine zipper, which is a characteristic motif of transcription factors, and was shown to exhibit strong transactivation activity when fused to Gal4 DNA binding domain. Overexpression of this gene interfered with MAP3K12 induced apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Apoptosis Antagonizing Transcription Factor
Chromosome: CHR17: 35306174 -35414171
Locus: 17q12
