NTRK3-RBPMS Fusion FISH Probe
The NTRK3-RBPMS Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NTRK3 and RBPMS genes. The fusion of the NTRK3 and RBPMS genes has been associated with Thyroid Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NTRK3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the development of proprioceptive neurons that sense body position. Mutations in this gene have been associated with medulloblastomas, secretory breast carcinomas and other cancers. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Gene Name: Neurotrophic Receptor Tyrosine Kinase 3
Chromosome: CHR15: 88419987 -88799962
Locus: 15q25.3
RBPMS Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the RNA recognition motif family of RNA-binding proteins. The RNA recognition motif is between 80-100 amino acids in length and family members contain one to four copies of the motif. The RNA recognition motif consists of two short stretches of conserved sequence, as well as a few highly conserved hydrophobic residues. The encoded protein has a single, putative RNA recognition motif in its N-terminus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Gene Name: RNA Binding Protein With Multiple Splicing
Chromosome: CHR8: 30241943 -30429734
Locus: 8p12
