NSFL1C-HOOK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The NSFL1C-HOOK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NSFL1C and HOOK2 genes. The fusion of the NSFL1C and HOOK2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HOOK2 Gene Summary
Hook proteins are cytosolic coiled-coil proteins that contain conserved N-terminal domains, which attach to microtubules, and more divergent C-terminal domains, which mediate binding to organelles. The Drosophila Hook protein is a component of the endocytic compartment.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]
Gene Name: Hook Microtubule Tethering Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 12873816 -12886434
Locus: 19p13.13
NSFL1C Gene Summary
N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor (NSF) and valosin-containing protein (p97) are two ATPases known to be involved in transport vesicle/target membrane fusion and fusions between membrane compartments. A trimer of the protein encoded by this gene binds a hexamer of cytosolic p97 and is required for p97-mediated regrowth of Golgi cisternae from mitotic Golgi fragments. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 8. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
Gene Name: NSFL1 Cofactor
Chromosome: CHR20: 1422806 -1448337
Locus: 20p13
