NRIP1-IGSF8 Fusion FISH Probe
The NRIP1-IGSF8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NRIP1 and IGSF8 genes. The fusion of the NRIP1 and IGSF8 genes has been associated with Mesothelioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NRIP1 Gene Summary
Nuclear receptor interacting protein 1 (NRIP1) is a nuclear protein that specifically interacts with the hormone-dependent activation domain AF2 of nuclear receptors. Also known as RIP140, this protein modulates transcriptional activity of the estrogen receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Interacting Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR21: 16333555 -16437126
Locus: 21q11.2-q21.1
IGSF8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member the EWI subfamily of the immunoglobulin protein superfamily. Members of this family contain a single transmembrane domain, an EWI (Glu-Trp-Ile)-motif and a variable number of immunoglobulin domains. This protein interacts with the tetraspanins CD81 and CD9 and may regulate their role in certain cellular functions including cell migration and viral infection. The encoded protein may also function as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting the proliferation of certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Gene Name: Immunoglobulin Superfamily Member 8
Chromosome: CHR1: 160061129 -160068618
Locus: 1q23.2
