NRF1-MTMR1 Fusion FISH Probe
The NRF1-MTMR1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NRF1 and MTMR1 genes. The fusion of the NRF1 and MTMR1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NRF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that homodimerizes and functions as a transcription factor which activates the expression of some key metabolic genes regulating cellular growth and nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. The protein has also been associated with the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Confusion has occurred in bibliographic databases due to the shared symbol of NRF1 for this gene and for "nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 1" which has an official symbol of NFE2L1. Gene Name: Nuclear Respiratory Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 129251554 -129396922
Locus: 7q32.2
MTMR1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the myotubularin related family of proteins. Members of this family contain the consensus sequence for the active site of protein tyrosine phosphatases. Alternatively spliced variants have been described but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Myotubularin Related Protein 1
Chromosome: CHRX: 149861868 -149933575
