NR6A1-GOLGA1 Fusion FISH Probe
The NR6A1-GOLGA1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NR6A1 and GOLGA1 genes. The fusion of the NR6A1 and GOLGA1 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma, and Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NR6A1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an orphan nuclear receptor which is a member of the nuclear hormone receptor family. Its expression pattern suggests that it may be involved in neurogenesis and germ cell development. The protein can homodimerize and bind DNA, but in vivo targets have not been identified. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 6 Group A Member 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 127284702 -127533576
Locus: 9q33.3
GOLGA1 Gene Summary
The Golgi apparatus, which participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway, consists of a series of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are thought to be important for the reorganization of the Golgi after it fragments during mitosis. This gene encodes one of the golgins, a family of proteins localized to the Golgi. This encoded protein is associated with Sjogren's syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: Golgin A1
Chromosome: CHR9: 127640572 -127703386
Locus: 9q33.3
