NOM1-UVRAG Fusion FISH Probe
The NOM1-UVRAG Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NOM1 and UVRAG genes. The fusion of the NOM1 and UVRAG genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

UVRAG Gene Summary
This gene complements the ultraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells and encodes a protein with a C2 domain. The protein activates the Beclin1-PI(3)KC3 complex, promoting autophagy and suppressing the proliferation and tumorigenicity of human colon cancer cells. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with left-right axis malformation and mutations in this gene have been associated with colon cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: UV Radiation Resistance Associated
Chromosome: CHR11: 75526211 -75855282
Locus: 11q13.5
NOM1 Gene Summary
Proteins that contain MIF4G (middle of eIF4G (MIM 600495)) and/or MA3 domains, such as NOM1, function in protein translation. These domains include binding sites for members of the EIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD box RNA helicases (see EIF4A1; MIM 602641) (Simmons et al., 2005 [PubMed 15715967]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Nucleolar Protein With MIF4G Domain 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 156742416 -156765876
Locus: 7q36.3
