NMD3-USP40 Fusion FISH Probe
The NMD3-USP40 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NMD3 and USP40 genes. The fusion of the NMD3 and USP40 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NMD3 Gene Summary
Ribosomal 40S and 60S subunits associate in the nucleolus and are exported to the cytoplasm. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the passage of the 60S subunit through the nuclear pore complex and into the cytoplasm. Several transcript variants exist for this gene, but the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Gene Name: NMD3 Ribosome Export Adaptor
Chromosome: CHR3: 160939098 -160969795
Locus: 3q26.1
USP40 Gene Summary
Modification of cellular proteins by ubiquitin is an essential regulatory mechanism controlled by the coordinated action of multiple ubiquitin-conjugating and deubiquitinating enzymes. USP40 belongs to a large family of cysteine proteases that function as deubiquitinating enzymes (Quesada et al., 2004 [PubMed 14715245]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 40
Chromosome: CHR2: 234384164 -234474236
Locus: 2q37.1
