NLGN1-CCDC50 Fusion FISH Probe

The NLGN1-CCDC50 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NLGN1 and CCDC50 genes. The fusion of the NLGN1 and CCDC50 genes has been associated with Mesothelioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NLGN1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of a family of neuronal cell surface proteins. Members of this family may act as splice site-specific ligands for beta-neurexins and may be involved in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Neuroligin 1

Chromosome: CHR3: 173116243 -174001116

Locus: 3q26.31

CCDC50 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a soluble, cytoplasmic, tyrosine-phosphorylated protein with multiple ubiquitin-interacting domains. Mutations in this gene cause nonsyndromic, postlingual, progressive sensorineural DFNA44 hearing loss. In mouse, the protein is expressed in the inner ear during development and postnatal maturation and associates with microtubule-based structures. This protein may also function as a negative regulator of NF-kB signaling and as an effector of epidermal growth factor (EGF)-mediated cell signaling. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Gene Name: Coiled-coil Domain Containing 50

Chromosome: CHR3: 191046873 -191116459

Locus: 3q28
