NFIC-CELF5 Fusion FISH Probe
The NFIC-CELF5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NFIC and CELF5 genes. The fusion of the NFIC and CELF5 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Brain Lower Grade Glioma, Brain Lower Grade Glioma, Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NFIC Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the CTF/NF-I family. These are dimeric DNA-binding proteins, and function as cellular transcription factors and as replication factors for adenovirus DNA replication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Factor I C
Chromosome: CHR19: 3359615 -3463603
Locus: 19p13.3
CELF5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the the CELF/BRUNOL protein family, which contain two N-terminal RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, one C-terminal RRM domain, and a divergent segment of 160-230 aa between the second and third RRM domains. Members of this protein family regulate pre-mRNA alternative splicing and may also be involved in mRNA editing and translation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
Gene Name: CUGBP Elav-like Family Member 5
Chromosome: CHR19: 3224700 -3297073
Locus: 19p13.3
