NFIA-FGGY Fusion FISH Probe
The NFIA-FGGY Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NFIA and FGGY genes. The fusion of the NFIA and FGGY genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NFIA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the NF1 (nuclear factor 1) family of transcription factors. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Factor I A
Chromosome: CHR1: 61542945 -61928460
Locus: 1p31.3
FGGY Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that phosphorylates carbohydrates such as ribulose, ribitol, and L-arabinitol. Genome-wide association studies in some populations have found an association between polymorphisms in this gene and sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, but studies of other populations have not been able to replicate this association. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Gene Name: FGGY Carbohydrate Kinase Domain Containing
Chromosome: CHR1: 59762624 -60228402
Locus: 1p32.1
