NFAT5-CSMD2 Fusion FISH Probe
The NFAT5-CSMD2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NFAT5 and CSMD2 genes. The fusion of the NFAT5 and CSMD2 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NFAT5 Gene Summary
The product of this gene is a member of the nuclear factors of activated T cells family of transcription factors. Proteins belonging to this family play a central role in inducible gene transcription during the immune response. This protein regulates gene expression induced by osmotic stress in mammalian cells. Unlike monomeric members of this protein family, this protein exists as a homodimer and forms stable dimers with DNA elements. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Nuclear Factor Of Activated T-cells 5
Chromosome: CHR16: 69599868 -69738569
Locus: 16q22.1
CSMD2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be involved in the control of complement. Defects in this gene have been associated with schizophrenia. This gene may act as a tumor suppressor for colorectal cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]
Gene Name: CUB And Sushi Multiple Domains 2
Chromosome: CHR1: 33979608 -34631443
Locus: 1p35.1
