NF1-PDS5B Fusion FISH Probe
The NF1-PDS5B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NF1 and PDS5B genes. The fusion of the NF1 and PDS5B genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NF1 Gene Summary
This gene product appears to function as a negative regulator of the ras signal transduction pathway. Mutations in this gene have been linked to neurofibromatosis type 1, juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and Watson syndrome. The mRNA for this gene is subject to RNA editing (CGA>UGA->Arg1306Term) resulting in premature translation termination. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have also been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Neurofibromin 1
Chromosome: CHR17: 29421944 -29704695
Locus: 17q11.2
PDS5B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that interacts with the conserved protein complex termed cohesin. The cohesin complex holds together sister chromatids and facilitates accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis and meiosis. This protein is also a negative regulator of cell proliferation and may be a tumor-suppressor gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]
Gene Name: PDS5 Cohesin Associated Factor B
Chromosome: CHR13: 33160563 -33352158
Locus: 13q13.1
