NF1-ADAP2 Fusion FISH Probe

The NF1-ADAP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NF1 and ADAP2 genes. The fusion of the NF1 and ADAP2 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

NF1 Gene Summary

This gene product appears to function as a negative regulator of the ras signal transduction pathway. Mutations in this gene have been linked to neurofibromatosis type 1, juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and Watson syndrome. The mRNA for this gene is subject to RNA editing (CGA>UGA->Arg1306Term) resulting in premature translation termination. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have also been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Neurofibromin 1

Chromosome: CHR17: 29421944 -29704695

Locus: 17q11.2

ADAP2 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene binds beta-tubulin and increases the stability of microtubules. The encoded protein can also translocate to the cell membrane and bind phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdInsP3) and inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate (InsP4). In addition, this protein is a GTPase-activating protein for ADP ribosylation factor 6 and may be able to block the entry of some RNA viruses. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

Gene Name: ArfGAP With Dual PH Domains 2

Chromosome: CHR17: 29248753 -29286211

Locus: 17q11.2
