NDUFA12-NUP107 Fusion FISH Probe
The NDUFA12-NUP107 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NDUFA12 and NUP107 genes. The fusion of the NDUFA12 and NUP107 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NDUFA12 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein which is part of mitochondrial complex 1, part of the oxidative phosphorylation system in mitochondria. Complex 1 transfers electrons to ubiquinone from NADH which establishes a proton gradient for the generation of ATP. Mutations in this gene are associated with Leigh syndrome due to mitochondrial complex 1 deficiency. Pseudogenes of this gene are located on chromosomes 5 and 13. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
Gene Name: NADH:ubiquinone Oxidoreductase Subunit A12
Chromosome: CHR12: 95365109 -95397511
Locus: 12q22
NUP107 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the nucleoporin family. The protein is localized to the nuclear rim and is an essential component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). All molecules entering or leaving the nucleus either diffuse through or are actively transported by the NPC. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Nucleoporin 107
Chromosome: CHR12: 69080730 -69136473
Locus: 12q15
