NDRG2-SEC63 Fusion FISH Probe
The NDRG2-SEC63 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NDRG2 and SEC63 genes. The fusion of the NDRG2 and SEC63 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SEC63 Gene Summary
The Sec61 complex is the central component of the protein translocation apparatus of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. The protein encoded by this gene and SEC62 protein are found to be associated with ribosome-free SEC61 complex. It is speculated that Sec61-Sec62-Sec63 may perform post-translational protein translocation into the ER. The Sec61-Sec62-Sec63 complex might also perform the backward transport of ER proteins that are subject to the ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent degradation pathway. The encoded protein is an integral membrane protein located in the rough ER. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: SEC63 Homolog, Protein Translocation Regulator
Chromosome: CHR6: 108188959 -108279482
Locus: 6q21
NDRG2 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the N-myc downregulated gene family which belongs to the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic protein that may play a role in neurite outgrowth. This gene may be involved in glioblastoma carcinogenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: NDRG Family Member 2
