NCOR2-PIP4K2B Fusion FISH Probe
The NCOR2-PIP4K2B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCOR2 and PIP4K2B genes. The fusion of the NCOR2 and PIP4K2B genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PIP4K2B Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate on the fourth hydroxyl of the myo-inositol ring to form phosphatidylinositol-5,4-bisphosphate. This gene is a member of the phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase family. The encoded protein sequence does not show similarity to other kinases, but the protein does exhibit kinase activity. Additionally, the encoded protein interacts with p55 TNF receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase Type 2 Beta
Chromosome: CHR17: 36921943 -36956158
Locus: 17q12
NCOR2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear receptor co-repressor that mediates transcriptional silencing of certain target genes. The encoded protein is a member of a family of thyroid hormone- and retinoic acid receptor-associated co-repressors. This protein acts as part of a multisubunit complex which includes histone deacetylases to modify chromatin structure that prevents basal transcriptional activity of target genes. Aberrant expression of this gene is associated with certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Corepressor 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 124808956 -125052010
Locus: 12q24.31
