NCOR2-GATA4 Fusion FISH Probe
The NCOR2-GATA4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCOR2 and GATA4 genes. The fusion of the NCOR2 and GATA4 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GATA4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function, and is necessary for normal testicular development. Mutations in this gene have been associated with cardiac septal defects. Additionally, alterations in gene expression have been associated with several cancer types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
Gene Name: GATA Binding Protein 4
Chromosome: CHR8: 11561716 -11617509
Locus: 8p23.1
NCOR2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear receptor co-repressor that mediates transcriptional silencing of certain target genes. The encoded protein is a member of a family of thyroid hormone- and retinoic acid receptor-associated co-repressors. This protein acts as part of a multisubunit complex which includes histone deacetylases to modify chromatin structure that prevents basal transcriptional activity of target genes. Aberrant expression of this gene is associated with certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Corepressor 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 124808956 -125052010
Locus: 12q24.31
