NCOR2-DHX37 Fusion FISH Probe
The NCOR2-DHX37 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCOR2 and DHX37 genes. The fusion of the NCOR2 and DHX37 genes has been associated with Glioblastoma Multiforme, Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NCOR2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear receptor co-repressor that mediates transcriptional silencing of certain target genes. The encoded protein is a member of a family of thyroid hormone- and retinoic acid receptor-associated co-repressors. This protein acts as part of a multisubunit complex which includes histone deacetylases to modify chromatin structure that prevents basal transcriptional activity of target genes. Aberrant expression of this gene is associated with certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Corepressor 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 124808956 -125052010
Locus: 12q24.31
DHX37 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a DEAD box protein. DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: DEAH-box Helicase 37
Chromosome: CHR12: 125431369 -125473667
Locus: 12q24.31
