NCOA4-RSU1 Fusion FISH Probe
The NCOA4-RSU1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCOA4 and RSU1 genes. The fusion of the NCOA4 and RSU1 genes has been associated with Cholangiocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RSU1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that is involved in the Ras signal transduction pathway, growth inhibition, and nerve-growth factor induced differentiation processes, as determined in mouse and human cell line studies. In mouse, the encoded protein was initially isolated based on its ability to inhibit v-Ras transformation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants for this gene have been reported; one of these variants was found only in glioma tumors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Ras Suppressor Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 16632616 -16859453
Locus: 10p13
NCOA4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an androgen receptor coactivator. The encoded protein interacts with the androgen receptor in a ligand-dependent manner to enhance its transcriptional activity. Chromosomal translocations between this gene and the ret tyrosine kinase gene, also located on chromosome 10, have been associated with papillary thyroid carcinoma. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. Pseudogenes are present on chromosomes 4, 5, 10, and 14. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: Nuclear Receptor Coactivator 4
Chromosome: CHR10: 51565107 -51590734
Locus: 10q11.22
