NCAM2-TMPRSS15 Fusion FISH Probe
The NCAM2-TMPRSS15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCAM2 and TMPRSS15 genes. The fusion of the NCAM2 and TMPRSS15 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NCAM2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a type I membrane protein and may function in selective fasciculation and zone-to-zone projection of the primary olfactory axons. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule 2
Chromosome: CHR21: 22370632 -22912517
Locus: 21q21.1
TMPRSS15 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an enzyme that converts the pancreatic proenzyme trypsinogen to trypsin, which activates other proenzymes including chymotrypsinogen and procarboxypeptidases. The precursor protein is cleaved into two chains that form a heterodimer linked by a disulfide bond. This protein is a member of the trypsin family of peptidases. Mutations in this gene cause enterokinase deficiency, a malabsorption disorder characterized by diarrhea and failure to thrive. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Transmembrane Protease, Serine 15
Chromosome: CHR21: 19641432 -19775970
Locus: 21q21.1
