NARS2-TOP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The NARS2-TOP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NARS2 and TOP1 genes. The fusion of the NARS2 and TOP1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TOP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a DNA topoisomerase, an enzyme that controls and alters the topologic states of DNA during transcription. This enzyme catalyzes the transient breaking and rejoining of a single strand of DNA which allows the strands to pass through one another, thus altering the topology of DNA. This gene is localized to chromosome 20 and has pseudogenes which reside on chromosomes 1 and 22. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: DNA Topoisomerase I
Chromosome: CHR20: 39657461 -39753126
Locus: 20q12
NARS2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a putative member of the class II family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. These enzymes play a critical role in protein biosynthesis by charging tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This protein is encoded by the nuclear genome but is likely to be imported to the mitochondrion where it is thought to catalyze the ligation of asparagine to tRNA molecules. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 24 (COXPD24). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]
Gene Name: Asparaginyl-tRNA Synthetase 2, Mitochondrial
Chromosome: CHR11: 78147006 -78285909
Locus: 11q14.1
