MYO18B-UBE2R2 Fusion FISH Probe
The MYO18B-UBE2R2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MYO18B and UBE2R2 genes. The fusion of the MYO18B and UBE2R2 genes has been associated with Glioblastoma Multiforme. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

UBE2R2 Gene Summary
Protein kinase CK2 is a ubiquitous and pleiotropic Ser/Thr protein kinase involved in cell growth and transformation. This gene encodes a protein similar to the E2 ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UBC3/CDC34. Studies suggest that CK2-dependent phosphorylation of this ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme functions by regulating beta-TrCP substrate recognition and induces its interaction with beta-TrCP, enhancing beta-catenin degradation. Gene Name: Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2 R2
Chromosome: CHR9: 33817181 -33920401
Locus: 9p13.3
MYO18B Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene may regulate muscle-specific genes when in the nucleus and may influence intracellular trafficking when in the cytoplasm. The encoded protein functions as a homodimer and may interact with F actin. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Myosin XVIIIB
Chromosome: CHR22: 26138119 -26427007
Locus: 22q12.1
