MTOR-MAD2L2 Fusion FISH Probe
The MTOR-MAD2L2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MTOR and MAD2L2 genes. The fusion of the MTOR and MAD2L2 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MTOR Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of phosphatidylinositol kinase-related kinases. These kinases mediate cellular responses to stresses such as DNA damage and nutrient deprivation. This protein acts as the target for the cell-cycle arrest and immunosuppressive effects of the FKBP12-rapamycin complex. The ANGPTL7 gene is located in an intron of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
Gene Name: Mechanistic Target Of Rapamycin Kinase
Chromosome: CHR1: 11166587 -11322608
Locus: 1p36.22
MAD2L2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosomes are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. The encoded protein, which is similar to MAD2L1, is capable of interacting with ADAM9, ADAM15, REV1, and REV3 proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Mitotic Arrest Deficient 2 Like 2
Chromosome: CHR1: 11734536 -11751678
Locus: 1p36.22
