MTM1-VBP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MTM1-VBP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MTM1 and VBP1 genes. The fusion of the MTM1 and VBP1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MTM1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a dual-specificity phosphatase that acts on both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine. It is required for muscle cell differentiation and mutations in this gene have been identified as being responsible for X-linked myotubular myopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Myotubularin 1
Chromosome: CHRX: 149737046 -149841616
Locus: Xq28
VBP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene interacts with the Von Hippel-Lindau protein to form an intracellular complex. The encoded protein functions as a chaperone protein, and may play a role in the transport of the Von Hippel-Lindau protein from the perinuclear granules to the nucleus or cytoplasm. Alternative splicing and the use of alternate transcription start sites results in multiple transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
Gene Name: VHL Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHRX: 154444700 -154468098
Locus: Xq28
