MTERFD1-HSD17B6 Fusion FISH Probe
The MTERFD1-HSD17B6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MTERFD1 and HSD17B6 genes. The fusion of the MTERFD1 and HSD17B6 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HSD17B6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene has both oxidoreductase and epimerase activities and is involved in androgen catabolism. The oxidoreductase activity can convert 3 alpha-adiol to dihydrotestosterone, while the epimerase activity can convert androsterone to epi-androsterone. Both reactions use NAD+ as the preferred cofactor. This gene is a member of the retinol dehydrogenase family. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
