MSRB3-JAZF1 Fusion FISH Probe
The MSRB3-JAZF1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MSRB3 and JAZF1 genes. The fusion of the MSRB3 and JAZF1 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

JAZF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear protein with three C2H2-type zinc fingers, and functions as a transcriptional repressor. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with endometrial stromal tumors. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: JAZF Zinc Finger 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 27870192 -28220437
Locus: 7p15.2-p15.1
MSRB3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the reduction of methionine sulfoxide to methionine. This enzyme acts as a monomer and requires zinc as a cofactor. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. One of the isoforms localizes to mitochondria while the other localizes to endoplasmic reticula. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Methionine Sulfoxide Reductase B3
Chromosome: CHR12: 65672422 -65860687
Locus: 12q14.3
