MSRA-ESCO2 Fusion FISH Probe
The MSRA-ESCO2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MSRA and ESCO2 genes. The fusion of the MSRA and ESCO2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MSRA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a ubiquitous and highly conserved protein that carries out the enzymatic reduction of methionine sulfoxide to methionine. Human and animal studies have shown the highest levels of expression in kidney and nervous tissue. The protein functions in the repair of oxidatively damaged proteins to restore biological activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]
Gene Name: Methionine Sulfoxide Reductase A
Chromosome: CHR8: 9911829 -10286401
Locus: 8p23.1
ESCO2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that may have acetyltransferase activity and may be required for the establishment of sister chromatid cohesion during the S phase of mitosis. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Roberts syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Establishment Of Sister Chromatid Cohesion N-acetyltransferase 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 27632057 -27662424
Locus: 8p21.1
